At nine-years old Anakin can do things that many humans only dream
of, like pod racing. He is a natural mechanic, which is why he is such
a valuable slave. He longs to be an adventurous starpilot, and shows
definate promise in his abilities to become one.
He lived as a slave all his life, being passing about from owner
to owner, often being lost in bets. In fact Qui-Gon obtained possession
of him by winning a bet with Anakin's master.
Anakin is the envy of most, if not all, adolecent boys. He not only gets to become a Jedi Knight, but he also has a close relationship with Queen Amidala, Natalie Portman need I say more :)
